Why Energy breathing?

What if there was a simple, free, easy-to-do exercise that just about anyone could do from the comfort their own home to help anxiety, oxygen flow, energy levels and more?

Here is the technique:

To follow sit/lie comfortably making sure your body is in an open position

Imagine your whole spine is a tube.

As you BREATHE IN imagine air or energy entering the root of your spine and floating upwards towards to the top of your abdomen.

As the air gathers here, gently HOLD this and your breath for a few seconds.

Now as you BREATHE OUT, imagine the air or energy floating further up your spine and just gently PUSH it up and out through the crown of your head.

Repeat this pattern of breathing for as long as you feel comfortable.

So what is it?

Energy Breathing uses the rhythm of our breath and the focus of our mind to move energy around our body. This has physical, mental and therapeutic benefits. Seka provides this very basic Energy Breathing exercise to start with, as it’s a simple introduction to releasing energy blockages within in the body and relaxing the mind.

Energy blockages can be anything from stored emotions, traumas, stress or physical manifestations of pain.

Seka believes that exploring the fundamental elements of Energy Breathing will not only help people to become much more aware of their body’s own energy, but it will help us recognize when, where and how we can move our energy so that we can prevent future illness and keep our overall energy frequency balanced and strong. Then with practice and experience, further and more specific Energy Breathing exercises can be introduced to target personal areas of pain, illness or anxiety.

So is Energy Breathing just another form of meditation?

Or is it an actual exercise? Seka explains that it’s almost a bit of both, but doesn’t often align herself with meditation as she finds it too abstract and too difficult to actually put into practice in our daily lives. She believes sitting and ‘doing meditation’ is just too alien for us, and actually when we do things we love and things we are naturally good at, a higher form of meditation, finds us.

“The breathing element is merely a tool that helps us to move our energy around. When we breathe energy into different parts of the body, the concentration of the energy frequency changes in relation to the blockages present.

This technique of BASIC ENERGY BREATHING is great for the body on a general basis as it builds up the energy flow throughout the whole of the body, which help the body function better as a whole, subsequently boosting our immunity too.

Basic Energy Breathing is extremely effective for the mind too. It helps to calm racing thoughts and help us temporarily switch off. Even just a few minutes of the practise will help to momentarily ground you and relax you. That gentle concentration when focusing simply on your breath and the connection throughout your spine can help you to focus and stop you worrying about everything else around you.

Energy Breathing

As Seka explains, the simplicity of this exercise really is the key. It doesn't require a yoga mat, or any specific or expensive equipment. Any free time you have can be used for ENERGY BREATHING.
